Banaras Hindu University to conduct exams for final year students through Assignments. The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has decided to hold assignment-based examinations for final-year students. The Council has approved the proposal to make the session examination assignment based for students of the intermediate and final semesters of the 2019-20 academic session. BHU’s Notice stated that, “Banaras Hindu University (BHU) administration has decided to hold assignment-based assessment for students in the intermediate/final semester for the academic year 2019-20. Teachers are to send assignments to students through email or other electronic devices which are to be completed within 15 days of receiving”
The students will be given assignments by their teachers with a time limit of fifteen days for completion and it will be provided to the students through an e-mail. Students need to submit the assignment in the same format. Once the assignment submitted by students are evaluated, the marks of the same will be uploaded by the teachers on the portal by August 31, 2020.
Final year students will be graded on end-semester and terminal semester examinations, their weightage in a ratio of 30:70, for calculating the final marks.
The marks for these students will be decided based on the assignment-based assessment and a terminal component, both of which will be for 50% of the marks. Students will also have the option of improving their marks in the “next available examination” in the succeeding year.
