Bihar board gives grace marks to avoid compartment exam, 2.14 lakh failed 10th, 12th students pass. The Bihar board was the first to publish intermediate results on March 24 itself, while the matriculation results were published in the midst of lockdown on May 26. Bihar School Examination Committee (Bihar Board) has taken a big decision in the transition of Corona. He has passed his matriculation and inter examinations in the year 2020 by giving grace marks to students who have failed in one or two subjects.

Along with this, the board has also decided not to take compartmental examination. This proposal of the Board has also been approved by the Education Department. The board has also released the result with Grace Marks, which can be viewed on the board’s website onlinebseb.in.

The board has not revealed how many grace marks have been awarded to each but has brought relief to a large number of students by avoiding the risk of holding compartment exams during the pandemic. Only the students who had marks closer to the passing marks have benefited with this.

“Waiting for the situation to get normal and then hold Compartmentalise examination would have delayed the results to November-December, which would have not benefited any student in the present academic session. It is a decision taken entirely in students’ interests. Some other boards also did the same to avoid the risk of taking the examination in the midst of a pandemic,” he added.

Around 2,08,147 Matric Students had received Compartmental Results of which 108459 students had failed in one subject while 99,688 students had failed in two subjects. Of this number, 1,41,677 students have been awarded grace marks and promoted; taking the overall pass percentage for BSEB 10th Result 2020 to 68.07%.

On similar lines, for intermediate exam, a total of 1,32,486 students had failed of which 46,005 had failed in one subject, while 86,481 had failed in two subjects. Of this number, altogether 72,610 students have been awarded grace marks and passed in the BSEB Intermediate Exam 2020. Bihar 12th Result 2020 pass percentage now stands at 54.81%.
