CBSE Board Results 2020 – Uniform Grading System for all Pending Exams and Other Updates. The HRD Ministry is planning to release an important decision regarding holding of the pending CBSE Board Exams 2020 as well as School Board Exams 2020. The ministry is working on a uniform grading system for students that will encompass all exams including board and entrance examinations. A senior Ministry official, several options are available, including giving students a choice on whether to write the examinations or not, universal cancellation, and further postponement to September.
Although MHRD has not announced any decision formally, academic experts and media reports have hinted that the pending exams might be canceled with a uniform grading system on the basis of internal assessment which will be implemented for all students across India today in the light of COVID-19 situation.
The decision will be taken after the Board was directed by the Supreme Court of India to consider scrapping all remaining CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams and award mark based on internal assessment. The SC has asked the Board to come to inform its a decision regarding scrapping the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams by Tuesday i.e. June 23, 2020.
Earlier, the Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had announced that the CBSE results in 2020 for both Class 10 and 12 will be announced on August 15 at an interval of just a few days. Ministry will come out with a uniform decision for the entire country. The decision will encompass all exams including CBSE Board exams and entrance examinations including (NEET, JEE Main 2020, and others, as per the sources.
The SC was responding to a plea filed by the parents of some students. The plea sought quashing of the notification for conducting the remaining examinations of Class 12. An Education Ministry source has told a media house that a uniform grading system is being worked out and will be announced soon. As per the new grading system, the student’s marks will be awarded based on the internal assessment. The possibility of certain exams being postponed further cannot be ruled out, the sources said. The source also added that the decision will be implemented for the whole country irrespective of education boards. All states, including the red and green zones, will be taken into consideration.
