CBSE & ICSE Class 10 & 12 Board Exam Results:

the Supreme Court approved the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) decision to cancel the class 10 & 12 Pending board exams. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) said it will follow CBSE’s decision to do away with the remaining exams.

CBSE Exam Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj has said that the class 12 students will get a chance to sit for optional exams to improve scores. The exam controller also said that if class 12 students appear for optional exams, marks obtained will be treated as a final score.

The Supreme Court was hearing pleas seeking relief, including the scrapping of remaining exams of Class 12 scheduled from July 1-15, in view of an increasing number of COVID cases in the country. Similar relief was sought by the ICSE Board also.

As per an official notification by CBSE, “There are very few students of class 12, mainly from Delhi, who have appeared in exams in only 1 or 2 subjects.” The result for these students will be calculated based on performance in appeared subjects and performance in internal or practical or project-based assessment. These students will also be allowed to appear in the optional exam conducted by CBSE to improve their performance, however, this is an option.

“For students who have appeared in exams for more than three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose exam will not be conducted,” the CBSE Circular said.
