CBSE informs SC that Students Will Be Allowed to Opt-out Of Exams, Result By Mid-August. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said to Supreme Court that Students Will Be Allowed to Opt-out Of Exams. CBSE Board has today informed the Supreme Court that the CBSE Class 10th has been cancelled and CBSE Class 12th exam may be conducted once the situation gets better. CBSE Decision on Board Exams 2020:

The Board cancelled the pending CBSE Class 10 Board Exams and will promote them to next grade. However, when it comes to holding of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2020, looking at the importance of the examination, especially when it comes to seeking admission to higher education, the Board has scrapped the remaining exam but has given the option to students to appear for the exam once the situation is better.

Both Class 10 and Class 12 exams stand cancelled from 1 July. However, although Class 10 exams won’t take place at all, Class 12 exams have been deemed “optional”. The students can opt to be graded on internal assessment or they can appear for the pending board exams which will be held when the station is conducive.

After the Solicitor General told the court that pending Class 10 and 12 board exams from 1 July stand cancelled due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country and that Class 12 students have the option to choose how to be assessed, the question of results and the new academic year was raised.

The CBSE Board Class 10 and CBSE Board Class 12 exams now stand cancelled, the CBSE Board has said Class 10 students will now be assessed on the basis of performance in last three exams. Students who had appeared for the CBSE Board Class 10, CBSE Board Class 12 Exams will be assessed according to the marks obtained by them in the CBSE pre-board exams.
