CBSE Syllabus Reduced by 30%: Check Deleted Syllabus of CBSE Class 10. CBSE Board has been directed to revise the syllabus and reduce the course-load for students from 9th to 12th Class in the light of the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Union Minister for Human Resource Development has concerned about CBSE student’s 9th to 12th curriculum and their syllabus during this COVID -19 Pandemic. So he was suggested to reduce and revise the syllabus for the Academic year 2020 – 2021.
As reported by a leading newspaper:
The topics which are being considered for reduction include Area of a triangle and Frustum of a cone in Mathematics, Physical Properties of Metals and Non-metals, and the ‘Tyndall Effect’ on the eye in Science and Age of Industrialisation in History. These are the likely topics that will not be included in the Class 10 Board exam syllabus next year. The Board has also said that CBSE-affiliated schools will have the freedom to rationalize the syllabus for Classes 8 and below on their own.
CISCE Syllabus Reduced Last Week:
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) also announced a reduction of 25% syllabus for ICSE 10th and ISC 12th exams for the academic year 2020-21. The reduction in the syllabus, as quoted by CISCE Chief Gerry Arathoon, has been done keeping the linear progression across classes in mind and ensuring that the core concept related to each topic is retained.
