Commencement of XLRI New Academic Session of 2020 in the online mode


Xavier School of Management has welcomed the new batch of students for the 2020 academic year. The welcoming session was conducted in the online mode for the new students. Totally 477 students have joined in the MBA programmes offered by the institute.

 The courses for which the students have been inaugurated include Business Management with 181 students and Human Resource Management with 181 students.

The other courses include the Fellow Programme in Management with 15 students and Executive Fellow Programme in Management with 28 students. The new campus of XLRI Delhi-NCR also welcomed the students for the Business Management with 72 students.

The welcome ceremony was addressed by Fr. P. Christie S.J., Director of XLRI- Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, Fr Sebastian George, SJ, Director, XLRI Delhi-NCR Campus and the Dean, Prof.Ashis Pani.

Inaugural Address

Director of XLRI- Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur – Fr. P. Christie S.J. while addressing the students, Fr. P. Christie S.J., Director, XLRI-Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur stated that it is the first time that XLRI has conducted the inauguration of a new batch online because of the COVID-19 lockdown. He also added that the classes will also be conducted online giving a new set of experiences. The institute will be taking all efforts to provide the students with a similar learning experience as much as possible in the classrooms.

He further conveyed that the institute is happy to have a new campus in Delhi-NCR area. Moreover, one of the reasons for going to Delhi is the growing demand for business leaders triggered by the economic growth in India.

While speaking about the new campus in Delhi, the director further added that the two campuses will consider a part of the same registered society with the same governing board and the same treasurer for all the campuses. He further was specific about that the institutional strategy visualizes both Jamshedpur and Delhi campuses as two separate entities of the same institution.  The students of both the campuses will also belong to the institution.

Orientation Programme for Students

A Special Orientation programme will be held for the students to update their knowledge before the regular classes commence. The orientation programme will be conducted on a virtual platform.

The first-year students will also undergo a compulsory Village Exposure programme and the Outbound Adventure programme. Both the programmes will be specially designed for the students to create awareness about the realities of rural India and also develop the sense of team spirit among the students.
