CSIR Technical Assistant Age Limit 2020:

The upper age limit is relaxable upto 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC as per Government of India orders in force only in those cases where the post are reserved for respective categories, on production of self-attested copy of relevant certificate in the prescribed format signed by the specified authority which needs to be produced in original at the time of Trade/Skill Test.

Upper age limit is also relaxable up to 5(five years) for the regular employees working in CSIR laboratories/ Institutes, Government Departments, autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings.

As per GOI provisions, age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women and Women Judicially separated from Husbands, the upper age limit is relaxable up to the age of 35 years (up to 40 years for members of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and up to 38 years for members belonging to the Other Backward Classes in respect of the posts reserved for them) for Widows, divorced Women and Women Judicially separated from their Husbands who are not remarried. The persons claiming age relaxation under this sub-para would be required to produce following documentary evidence:

  • In case of Widow, Death Certificate of her husband together with the Affidavit that she has not remarried since
  • In case of divorced Women and Women judicially separated from their husbands, a certified copy of the judtechnical assistantent/decree of the appropriate Court to prove the fact of divorce or the judicial separation, as the case may be, with an Affidavit in respect of divorced Women and they have not remarried since

Age relaxation to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) is permissible as per GOI orders issued from time to time. The persons claiming age relaxation under this sub-para would be required to produce a certificate in prescribed proforma in support of their claims clearly indicating that the degree of physical disability is 40% or more. In any case, the appointment of these candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in accordance with the standards of medical fitness as prescribed by the Government for each individual posts to be filled by Direct Recruitment by Selection

CSIR Technical Assistant Education Qualification 2020:

Technical Assistant (Geology) – Post Code – 20:

Essential Qualification:

First Class B.Sc. with Geology as one of the subjects from a recognized University with one year experience in relevant discipline from a recognized Institute/Organisation.

Desirable Qualification:

Knowledge / experience of Interpretation of geological data for exploration/ soil/ coal/ mineral/ water sample preparation, analysis and handling of laboratory equipment’s like AAS, Ion Chromatograph, Flame photometer, UV-VIS, GC, ICP etc. /Coal Characterisation/ Rock Mechanics/ Rock testing/ design and monitoring of Engineering Projects/ AUTOCAD software.

Technical Assistant (Chemistry) – Post Code – 20:

Essential Qualification:

First class B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subjects from a recognized University with one year experience in relevant discipline from a recognized Institute/Organisation.

Desirable Qualification:

Knowledge / experience of analysis of solid and liquid fuels, operation of sophisticated analytical instruments./ coal and minerals testing and analysis by using conventional instruments, Characterization test, screening, washability studies of coal.

Technical Assistant (Zoology) – Post Code – 20:

Essential Qualification:

First Class B.Sc. with Zoology as one of the subjects from a recognized University with one year experience in relevant discipline from a recognized Institute/Organisation.

Desirable Qualification:

Knowledge / experience of wild animal sampling, analysis, preparation of wildlife management plan/Fauna & Flora/ GIS mapping / soil analysis.

Technical Assistant (Mining Engineering) – Post Code – 20:

Essential Qualification:

First Class Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognised University/Institute of at least 3 years full time duration or at least 2 years full time duration in case of lateral admission in Diploma courses or its equivalent with 02 years experience in relevant area from a recognized Institution/Organisation.

Desirable Qualification:

Knowledge / experience of working in Mine Planning Software/Modern survey equipment. / Rock excavation in underground coal mining/ tunnels/caverns/mining projects / CFD Modelling software

Technical Assistant (Mechanical Engineering) – Post Code – 20:

Essential Qualification:

First Class Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University/Institute of at least 3 years full time duration or at least 2 years full time duration in case of lateral admission in Diploma courses or its equivalent with 02 years experience in relevant area from a recognized Institution/Organisation.

Desirable Qualification:

Knowledge/ experience of NDT / Machine maintenance/ CAD/Fabrication work/machine shop / CNC machine/ Auger Sampling / Machine design/quality evaluation of mechanical components / CATIA/ANSYS or analytical software of Mechanical Engineering

Technical Assistant (Chemical Engineering) – Post Code – 20:

Essential Qualification:

First Class Diploma in Chemical Engineering from a recognised University/Institute of at least 3 years full time duration or at least 2 years full time duration in case of lateral admission in Diploma courses or its equivalent with 02 years experience in relevant area from a recognized Institution/Organisation.

Desirable Qualification:

Knowledge / experience in Plant design software for coal washeries/ Computer Aided Design/ Coal handling/coal and Mineral washing plants / sophisticated analytical instruments/ Coal to chemicals/syngas.

Technical Assistant (Electrical Engineering) – Post Code – 20:

Essential Qualification:

First Class Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised University/Institute of at least 3 years full time duration or at least 2 years full time duration in case of lateral admission in Diploma courses or its equivalent with 02 years experience in relevant area from a recognized Institution/Organisation.

Desirable Qualification:

Knowledge/Experience in testing of Electrical and electronics Instruments/power cables/telephone cables. / Electrical maintenance/estimation and execution of electrical works as per the CPWD manual. / AUTOCAD Drawing and design.

Pay level in pay matrix 6 (Rs. 35, 400)

CSIR Technical Assistant Selection Process 2020:

Mere fulfilment of educational qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for Trade/Skill Test. The duly constituted Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria for short-listing the candidates. The candidate should therefore, mention in the application all the qualifications and experiences in the relevant area over and above the minimum prescribed qualification supported with documents. Recruitment process will be completed as per the updates Rules of Council (CSIR O.M. No. 5-1(315)-PD dated 08/04/2016 & 09/04/2018). Any change will be informed by Web Notice only.

CSIR Technical Assistant Application Fee 2020:

  • Candidates are required to pay an Application Fee (Non-refundable) of Rs.100/-only (Rupees One Hundred only). Payment must be made through SBI payment gateway only available at CIMFR website www.cimfr.nic.in. After making necessary payment, the candidate must enclose the web generated slip along with the application form.
  • The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Women/CSIR Permanent Employees/Abroad Candidates category are exempted from submission of application fee
  • No other mode of payment will be accepted.
  • Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will not be refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection process

How to apply:

Before filling the application, please go through the full text of advertisement carefully, which is available only on www.cimfr.nic.in . No Column should be kept blank Write Not Applicable (NA) in the column, if it is not relevant to you. Use A-4 size paper for Application & Enclosures. Incomplete application form will be summarily rejected. (Please use separate application form for each post code)

  • Eligible candidates may visit CIMFR Website http://cimfr.nic.in/vacancies.html and download the Application Form. Application in the prescribed format may be submitted on A4 size thick/Xerox paper.
  • CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc. candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per guidelines of the University/Institute. Candidates are required to give the conversion formula, as per their university/institute guidelines.
  • The candidates must produce his/her ORIGINAL mark sheet and Provisional pass certificate, age and/or experience and caste/community certificate etc. at the time of Examination for verification. The candidates are requested to ensure while filling up the Application Form that any discrepancy found between the information given in the Application and as evident in original documents will make the candidate ineligible for appearing in examination and subsequent appointment.
