Delhi Technological University cancels end-semester exams scheduled from July 18. The Delhi Technological University (DTU) has cancelled the final-semester examinations to be held from July 18, 2020. Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly known as the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) is a public university located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic under the control of the Government of India. It is Delhi’s first Engineering College and amongst the few engineering institutions in India set up prior to independence. The institute has been under the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi since 1963 and was affiliated with the University of Delhi from 1952 to 2009.
Board Statement on Cancellation of Exams:
The varsity university said that “In view of the recent announcement directions by the Govt of NCT of Delhi to cancel all semester examinations, it is decided that the end term examinations of even semester 2019-20 for intermediate semesters of all programmes, including PhD Course Work, and all semesters of ex-students commencing from July 18 stand cancelled.”
Earlier The University announced that the final semester exams for various courses will be conducted through three different modes namely, the Combined examination of subjective questions and MCQs, Multiple-Choice based examination, and Case Study based examination. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)- Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur and IIT Roorkee including several other universities have already announced the cancellation of the end-semester exams.
