DU Pre-Admission Counselling to be Conducted Online for Academic Session 2020. Delhi University will be conducting the entire admission process in the online mode by following the guidelines for a contactless admission process keeping in mind the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown. The open sessions involving the pre-admission counselling which is an integral part of the admission process will also be conducted in the online mode this academic session for the students. The open Sessions are conducted by Delhi University for the students and parents to clear the doubts related to the admission process.
Students from across India:
Students from across India visit DU campuses to attend the open sessions to get clarity on various admission-related queries on how to fill out the forms, calculate their best of four marks, choose colleges, cut-off lists, to the certificates needed while enrolling. Also, this year the university will not conduct trials for sports and ECA (extracurricular activity) categories for admission to its undergraduate courses. Instead, the applicants will only have to submit certificates. For students seeking admission to music courses will have to upload their performances on YouTube as a part of their entrance test. Admissions will be done based on the YouTube video and an online interview.
Online Pre-Admission Counselling:
Due to the pandemic, this year arrangements will be made to hold the sessions online where faculty members and volunteers will engage with students via webinars or video/voice calls to address their queries,” Rajiv Gupta, Dean Student Welfare (DSW), DU, told Education Times. The exact guidelines and framework for the same will be shared after the admission cut-offs are announced in August. The timeline can be decided only after CBSE declares class 12th results.
Sports and ECA Admissions:
The university will not be conducting the trials for the Sports and ECA categories for the admissions for the undergraduate courses. For the admissions to the sports and ECA categories candidates are required to submit the certificates online. With regard to students applying for music courses, the candidates are to upload their performance on YouTube as part of the entrance test. The admissions for the music curses will be conducted based on the YouTube video and online interview. The university has asked the CBSE and state boards to provide the class 12 result links for conducting the online document verification as part of the admissions for the 2020 academic year.
