Final Semester University Examinations to be conducted as per UGC Guidelines in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to conduct only final year or semester examinations in all state universities. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said that all undergraduate and postgraduate examinations, except for the final year, had been canceled. Deputy CM confirms the End Semester Dates:
The Deputy CM said that “As per the UGC guidelines, the minister informed, that the exams will be conducted before September 30 and the results will be declared anywhere from October 15 to October 31, If any student could not appear for the last year/semester examinations, he will be given another chance. As per the convenience of the universities, another examination will be held for such students. This provision will be applicable for this academic year only”.
Further, he added that “The UP government has also decided to give another chance to students who cannot appear for the final year exam later when the situation is conducive. This will be a one-time measure”.
Earlier UGC said in a statement that, “Universities were approached to inform the status of the conduct of the examination. Response received from 640 universities. Out of these, 454 have either conducted the examination or are planning to conduct. 177 universities are yet to decide on the conduct of the examination.”
The UGC guidelines were opposed by the teachers association, student bodies, and the states including Punjab, Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Rajasthan.
