Free COVID19 Vaccines for senior citizens from March 1, says Union Minister Prakash Javadekar!!!. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced that people who are all have the age limit of above 60 years, will get free COVID19 Vaccines at 20,000 private hospitals and 10,000 government centres from March 1.
The Central Government will buy the doses and send it to all States for the government medical facilities. These vaccines are free of cost in the Government centers and the cost for private center will be announced by the government after consulting with the manufacturers.
The COVID19 vaccine drive phase 1 was begun on January 16. Now the centre will start the Phase 2 from March 1. Under phase 2, people aged above 60 years and those above 45 years of age with symptoms will be vaccinated across the country.
In India, two vaccines have been approved for use so far, Covishield and Covaxin. Earlier, India has started the nationwide COVID19 vaccine drive on 16 January. In the First Phase the healthcare workers and frontline workers received COVID19 vaccination.
