Google launched an interactive video shopping platform named Shoploop which helps people to experience the essence of visual and feel of products they like to shop for in the real-world without going to a physical store. The app is developed by Google’s in-house lab for an experimental project named ‘Area 120’ which is now available on mobile and expected to release the desktop version soon, the company revealed on Thursday.
The app has features by which one can review, try, and recommend products and help others shop directly from videos. All Shoploop videos are reduced to 90 seconds and helps people to find out new products in a more realistic way.”The experience on Shoploop is more interactive than just scrolling through images, titles, and descriptions on a traditional e-commerce site,” said Google. Shoploop also provides its customers to get product reviews from real people who are experts about the products in that specific area.
Similar to shopping apps, when one finds a product attractive or needy, you have options like save the product to buy it later or click straight to the merchant’s website to complete the purchase of your order. One can also add your favorite Shoploop creators personally and share videos you like with your friends and family. Google said that at present it is focusing on content creators, publishers, and online store owners in the beauty industry for categories such as makeup, skincare, hair, and nails. “If you are a content creator or a store owner in any of these product areas, you can apply through our website to be an exclusive Shoploop creator,” said the company.
