Government introduces four-year honours degree PG Course:
The six-member committee chaired by Mahatma Gandhi University Vice-Chancellor Sabu Thomas submitted its report to the government on a wide range of issues pertaining to higher education in Kerala.
The committee has also stated that several three-year degree courses in the state fail to get the approval of the foreign universities. While 37% of students come to Kerala for higher education, 48% of students join at various universities in Tamil Nadu for higher education, it stated.
The committee also recommended triple main degree courses in various arts and science subjects. The 4-year degree courses which allow students to choose elective in the fourth year also is under consideration.

The members of the committee include APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University VC Rajasree M.S., Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences Director Asha Kishore, IISER Thiruvananthapuram Director J.N. Moorthy, former Dean of School of Languages and Comparative Literature, Central University, Kasaragod, M. Dasan, and Kerala Council for Historical Research Director P. Sanal Mohan.
