Books For Students those who are Poor in Maths Subject:
Gujarat Education Secretary Vinod Rao while speaking to the media stated that the proposal has been received and the government will be thinking over the same. The poor performance of the students in maths leading to an increase in the drop-out rate which is problematic, he further stated. The resolution for introducing two separate textbooks in maths was passed after consulting with experts, educationists, principles, and representatives of parents associations.
The Officer on Special Duty in the Board M.M Pathan said that the proposal is to re-introduce the old system which is also in line with the pattern followed by the CBSE. Teachers are of the opinion that students in Gujarat have a very poor foundation in Mathematics followed by the fact that a no-detention policy has been adopted by the board. Students, in this case, will reach class 10 without facing any hurdles and when they come face to face with the real test on the board exams, the students find it extremely difficult.
