Gujarat Universities to Hold Exams for Final Year Students as Per UGC Guidelines. After the revised UGC guidelines were issued earlier this week, the Gujarat government instructed all universities and higher educational institutes to conduct end term exams for final year students by September 30, 2020. The exams can be conducted in online or offline mode, as per the convenience of the university.
Letter issued to Gujarat universities:
After the UGC guidelines regarding the conduction of exams were released, the Gujarat government issued a letter for all the universities, asking them to conduct the exams for final year students in any mode which is suitable for them.
The state government wrote in their letter that universities need to hold the exams in pen and paper mode, online mode or a blended mode by September 30, 2020, complying with the deadline set by UGC.
The government has also said that students seeking admission in foreign universities can take their exams online till July 30, and those who want to give the exams offline can do so till September 30.
The revised UGC guidelines were issued on July 6, and it clearly stated that all universities will have to hold examinations for final year students by the end of September. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) had also instructed all universities to follow the guidelines of UGC compulsorily and conduct the exams. MHRD also issued a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to all universities for the same.
