Health Ministry warns Students about fake PG counseling and seat allotment letter. The government has warned students over fake news circulating online regarding online counseling and PG seat allotment for NEET PG 2020. The letter that claims to be from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare says that the ‘Directorate general of health service, the government of India has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct online counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS)seats to eligible and qualified candidates as per directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court’. The Health Ministry of India has also stated that no such letter has been issued by the Ministry with regards to NEET PG 2020 Exam. Follow us to get daily updates.

PIB Statement about Fake Letter regarding PG Counselling:

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has declared that the official-looking document is a fake and that no such announcement has been made. The PIB Twitter page has posted the image and written ‘Claim- A Letter circulating allegedly from Health Ministry to Chief Secretaries of all states, regarding online counseling &  PG seat allotment.  #PIBFactCheck- The letter is #Fake. No such letter has been issued by Health Ministry’

Amid coronavirus pandemic, fake news and misinformation are being circulated widely on social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter among others. As the letter is going viral on social media platforms, the PIB Fact Check issued a clarification, saying this is fake. “The letter is #Fake. No such letter has been issued by Health Ministry,” read a tweet by PIB Fact Check.

MCC’s Allotment Letter:

Meanwhile, Medical Counselling Committee, MCC has released the allotment letter for the second round of counseling of NEET PG/ MDS Exam 2020. The physical reporting dates have been extended to June 30. The letter of allotment would be treated as an e-pass or Curfew pass for candidates with an attendant to be present in the allotted college at the time of reporting. This has been done in view of current restrictions imposed in the country related to interstate traveling.
