The COVID pandemic has conditioned teachers and students to rely digital education for effective learning amdist of crisis. Union HRD on tuesday tweeted the introduction PRAGYATA , which has guidelines for schools head, teachers , parents and students regarding screen time for children , tips on copying with psychological issues and much more about digital learning .
As per the guidelines issued, the class time of pre primary student is for 30 minutes, for classes 1- 8 , two online sessions each of 30 – 45 minutes and for classes 9 – 12 four sessions can be conducted .The PRAGYATA guidelines has eight steps regarding digital learning which are Plan, Review, Arrange, Guide, Yak(talk), Assign, Track, and Appreciate.
“To mitigate the impact of the pandemic, schools will not only have to remodel and re-imagine the way teaching and learning have happened so far, but will also need to introduce a suitable method of delivering quality education through a healthy mix of schooling at home and schooling at school,” HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said.
The PRAGYATA advises the school administration , teachers , parents and students on following areas such as Assesment needs, issues regarding digital learning (such as duration , screen time, inclusiveness, balanced online and offline activities, etc level-wise), cyber safety, mental health, collaboration and convergence with various other activities .
HRD Minister ensured that the guidelines will help to extend the perspective of learners on digital learning for students who are at home due to the lockdown.These guidelines will provide a roadmap or pointers for carrying forward online education to enhance the quality of education.
