HRD Ministry sets Panel to review situations regarding Holding Exams of JEE Main, NEET 2020. Human Resources Development Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank sets a high-level panel to examine the feasibility of holding the JEE Main 2020 and NEET UG 2020 entrance exams. The High-Level Panel will be headed by National Testing Agency Director-General Vineet Joshi, who will be joined by other academic experts from the industry. Request to Cancel NEET & JEE Main 2020:
Many requests have been made on social media by the NEET and JEE aspirants for cancellation of the entrance exams. There are many Hashtags are gone viral to cancel the JEE Main & NEET Exams and Considering that the COVID-19 outbreak is still at its peak, a plea in the Supreme Court seeking test centres overseas or exam postponement was filed. Not only this, but the Parents Association of India (PAI) also wrote a letter to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
HRD Minister’s Tweet about Experts Committee:
HRD Minister shared a message via his twitter handle that “Looking at the prevailing circumstances & requests received from students & parents appearing for #JEE & #NEET examinations, a committee consisting of @DG_NTA & other experts has been advised to review the situation & submit its recommendations to @HRDMinistry latest by tomorrow” he said.
The dates and arrangements as well as the present situations would be reviews by the NTA and the decision would be taken by the MHRD regarding the conduct of the competitive examination.
HRD Minister has asked the National Testing Agency, NTA to review the condition and check the feasibility of conducting the NEET and JEE Main 2020 examinations in July. The move comes after anxious students and parents took to Twitter to express concern over conducting the examination. As per the existing schedule, NTA is to conduct the JEE Main from July 18 to 23, 2020, for admission to engineering undergraduate courses. While, NEET will be held on July 26, 2020, for UG medical and dental admissions.
