Player of the Month for February 2021 by ICC – Ravichandran Ashwin & Tammy Beaumont. Ravichandran Ashwin, Indian Premier Off-spinner named the ICC men’s Player for the Month of February and England’s Tammy Beaumont was adjudged the women’s player of the Month. His stellar show against England in a four-match Test series at home which India won to qualify for the World Test Championship final.
The three nominees for each of the categories were shortlisted based on on-field performances and overall achievements during the period of that month (the first to the last day of each calendar month).
The shortlist is then voted on by the independent ICC Voting Academy* and fans around the world. The ICC Voting Academy comprising prominent members of the cricket family including senior journalists, former players, and broadcasters and some members of the ICC Hall of Fame.
Ravichandran Ashwin who played in three tests in the four match series scored a 106 in the second innings of India’s second Test victory over England at Chennai and took his 400th Test wicket in the third Test victory at Ahmedabad.
ICC Said “Ashwin took 24 wickets and who scored a total of 176 runs across these games was unanimous choice to win in the men’s category for February and garnered the most votes in the fan vote”
England’s Tammy Beaumont played 3 ODIs in February against New Zealand where she passed fifty in each of these, totalling 231 runs. Beaumont was overwhelmingly named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for February 2021.
