IIM Kozhikode has begun the academic session for the fresh batch of students with the e-inauguration of four programmes. The online classes for the programmes are scheduled to begin from the second week of August 2020. Along with the flagship Postgraduate Management programme and the existing doctoral programme in Management (PhD), two newly commenced programmes which include PGP in Finance and PGP in Liberal studies and Management (PGP-LSM) were also inaugurated.
Chairman and Managing Director, Nestle India Suresh Narayanan was the chief guest at the inauguration which was also presided by professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode. The chairman during inaugural address mentioned the importance of setting the bars high amidst the challenges in the post-COVID works and how courage driven by compassion can overcome any personal or professional obstacle.
During the inaugural ceremony, institute Director Professor Debashis Chatterjee stated that “the institute has anticipated the promotion of the multidisciplinary approach of the new National Education Policy 2020 and the commencement of the new programmes which are PGP finance and PGP LSM as the hall mar of the capabilities of the institute to be ahead of time in the education sector”.
Dean (Executive Education)- Professor C Raju, Dean (Academic Affairs and Development)- Professor Anandakuttan Unnithan, Dean (Research, Innovation and Internationalization)- professor Rudra Sensarma, Chairperson PGP-LSM – Professor Deepa Sethi and Chairperson PGP Finance – Professor Jijo Likose also spoke to students at the inaugural function.
