JEE Main Exams 2020 – Less than 50% Candidates attend the Exam on first day in Assam. National Testing Agency has successfully conducted JEE Main Paper 2 across the country on September 1, 2020. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the country, a fear in the candidates regarding safety measures has risen. As per the reports 40% of JEE Main 2020 registered candidates did not appear on the first day. In Assam state less than 50% of candidates appeared in the exam.
National Testing Agency mentioned that “Throughout Assam, the development was not very encouraging right this moment (Tuesday). Within the Guwahati centre, the place the examination was held by way of digital mode, hardly 200 out of round 600 registered candidates appeared”.
Other than the Guwahati centre, the variety of centres for JEE (Important) in different districts are — Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tezpur and Silchar.
Previously, NTA has postponed JEE Main 2020 entrance exam due to COVID19 pandemic in the country. After postponing JEE main 2020 two times, National Testing Agency has finally decided to conduct the exam from September 1 to 6 in computer based mode.
In many states candidates faced problems to reach the exam centre on time. There are heavy floods and transportation problems in many states. Candidates have faced many difficulties like lockdown in contaminated areas, transportation and others.
In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NTA has taken extra precautions to ensure safety of students. JEE Main candidates are allowed to enter and exit the examination venue in a phased manner.
