The ministry of human and resource development has launched an artificial intelligence-powered mobile app for the aspirants of NEET, JEE Main and other competitive exams. Called the National Test Abhyas, the app will enable students to take practice tests for upcoming exams falling under the purview of National Testing Agency (NTA). The app has been developed by NTA and seeks to facilitate candidates’ access to high-quality practice tests without stepping out. Giving practice tests have been difficult for students due to the closure of educational institutions and NTA’s Test-Practice Centers (TPCs) because of the lockdown. The practice tests can be accessed for free.
Students can download these tests and complete them offline. Currently, the app works on Android-based smart phones and tablets but will be available on iOS soon. Once downloaded, students will need to sign-up or register with basic details and create a free account. After this, they can start accessing practice tests free of cost for their selected examination(s). NTA plans to release one new practice test on the app every day. The app also offers live support from 10 AM to midnight for the first seven days of the release. Students will also get a test report on this NTA practice test app.
The report will have a detailed breakdown of students’ performance through which they can understand their personalised path to achieving better scores in their entrance examination. Speaking at the occasion, the HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, “This timely launch is designed to ensure that no student is left behind in getting exposure to practice testing, especially when Student’s loss due to closure of educational institutions is to be compensated and NTA’s Test-Practice Centers are shut due to the Covid-19 lockdown.”
