Jharkhand Government Schools set to reopen for Classes 9-12 from September 21. The state schooling and literacy division is planning to reopen state owned schools from September 21 for college students of classes 9 to 12, who need to consult lecturers to clear their educational doubts. Secondary education director, Jatashankar Choudhary said, “In accordance with Indian government guidelines, if a student who wishes to consult a teacher for doubts about his / her education, he / she can visit the school after obtaining the consent of parents or guardians. The school will not call the students. ”
A JEPC official, who asked not to be cited, said the council provided only technical support to prepare the proposal for the secondary education wing.
“In the proposal, we suggested that only 20 students would be allowed to sit in a classroom per day to maintain social distancing. As for teachers, 50% of teachers can be licensed according to the list. ”
Notably, the education department held its second round of interactions to gather public feedback on reopening schools for classes 9 to 12 between August 24 and August 31.
Out of about 12,500 respondents, around 25.76 per cent parents wanted schools to be reopened only in September, while the rest expressed willingness to send students only after the introduction of a Covid-19 vaccine, said the JEPC official.
