JNU Advises Students to Vacate Campus due to COVID-19

JNU Advises Students to Vacate Campus due to COVID – 19 Scare. Jawaharlal Nehru University has advised all the students who are still in the campus to return to their hometowns amid corona virus outbreak. Jawaharlal Nehru University, JNU, on Monday, advised its students who are still on the campus to return to their hometowns, days after a pharmacist at its health centre tested positive for Covid-19. Even though JNU is taking all the compulsory measures and precautions as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Delhi Government, the university still feels that the students are more safe and protected in their homes.

JNU asks Students on Campus to Leave:

In the present scenario, the timing of re-opening of the academic institutions is uncertain and may get delayed till August 15 2020. Therefore given the fact that the number of Covid-19 positive cases in Delhi is increasing rapidly, all students who are stranded in the hostels are, hereby, strongly advised to return to their homes at the earliest.

A circular by Dean of Students Professor Sudheer Pratap Singh said. Further, JNU has mentioned that the students who have already left the campus should not comeback until the university re-opens. Last month, too, the university asked its students to vacate the hostels and leave for their homes. JNU is closed till further notice due to the ongoing corona virus outbreak.
