JNU to conduct single entrance exams for M.Phil and Ph.D programmes. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will be held one common entrance exam for students seeking admission in either MPhil or PhD or both. Candidates of the same field applying for either of the programmes will have to attempt a single question paper.

Common Exam for M.Phil. and Ph.D:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE) said in a statement, “There will be a common/single question paper for M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in the same field of study (provided intake is there in both the programme for JNUEE).”

The notification further states that the entrance examination will be conducted for both the programmes in the same field on the same day as per the schedule provided on the official website. The entrance examination shall be conducted for both the programmes in same filed on the same date and time, as per the schedule.

“If any candidate intends to apply for these two Programmes of study i.e. M.Phil. and Ph.D. in the same filed, candidate can apply for both the programmes and has to appear only in one common test and attempt the relevant question paper (in the same field). The marks obtained by the candidate shall be considered for both the programmes, if opted for both”it added.

JNU Reopening Date:

The JNU in a statement said that the university will remain closed till August 31, 2020. JNU took the decision keeping in mind Home Affair’s Unlock 3 guidelines. As per reports, JNU has asked its students to stay at home and should not return to the campus until further notice.
