Karnataka SSLC Exam 2020 will be held as per schedule from 25th June. Amid rising concerns around holding of Class 10 Board Exams, Karnataka School Education Minister S Suresh Kumar clarified that Karantaka SSLC Exam 2020 will be held as per schedule starting from 25th June 2020. Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have cancelled the class X exams and decided to promote the candidates to the next level in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also added that the state government is considering reopening of schools for in-person classes in August 2020. The clarification regarding the SSLC Exams 2020 comes amid rising speculation and rumours about cancellation of exams after TN and Pudducherry decided to cancel the pending Class 10 exams yesterday citing the wide spread of COVID-19 and to avoid putting lives of students at risk.
SSLC Exams Scheduled from 25th June:
The revised exam schedule issued by the KSEEB in consultation with Karnataka Government, the SSCL Exams 2020 for Class 10 students is scheduled to be held from 25th June 2020. The exam for Class 10 students will continue until 4th July 2020. He also added that the state government has made all the necessary arrangements and will be following the necessary precautions and guidelines for the holding of the exams.
Schools Reopen in August 2020:
The reopening of schools, the education minister said that as of now there is no decision regarding reopening of schools. He said that at this juncture there is neither a ‘decision nor any intention’ to reopen schools. Education Minister also added that when the decision to reopen schools is taken, it will be done in a phased manner with High school first, then middle school or higher primary.
Schools Reopen and Online Classes:
Kumar said the Human Resource Development Ministry and Ministry of Home Affairs have given green signal to hold the exam. He appealed to the people not to create any confusion among children about the examination when they are seriously preparing for it. The examination was supposed to take place on March 27 and was put on hold due to coronavirus lockdown, and it was decided it would be conducted on June 25. In the meanwhile, many schools insisted to reopen and start the classes. There were reports of a good number of schools conducting online classes.
