Kurukshetra University likely to opt for OBE mode – Exams to begin on September 10. The Kurukshetra University is all set to the final year exam 2020 from September 10, 2020, by the Kurukshetra University. The examination for all UG/PG terminal semester/ year of regular, DDE, and private students will be conducted in September. Kurukshetra University is a university established on 11 January 1956 in Kurukshetra in the Indian state of Haryana, 160 kilometres (99 mi) from the capital, Delhi. It is a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities. The university was the idea of the then Punjab governor, Sir Chandeshwar Prasad Narayan Singh, a Sanskrit scholar.
The Department of Sanskrit was the first and the only department in the university when it was inaugurated by Bharat Ratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the Indian Republic.
Kurukshetra University will be the second varsity after Delhi University to opt for open book exams. The detailed time table and other related details would be available on the official site soon.
As per the reports, The final year exams will be the open-book format. The decision to conduct the examination in OBE mode has been taken keeping in view the present pandemic situation. Moreover, the varsity has also thought of keeping two modes of exam for candidates who do not have internet connectivity.
According to media reports, the University is also considering setting up a university collection center for rural areas where students can reach and submit their answer sheets after solving the paper.
