In his letter, he pointed that, “I am writing to draw your attention towards my concern regarding the plan of CBSE to conduct the remaining exams of class 10 and 12 in July. I hope you would agree with me that the board exams, particularly those of class 12 are high stake exams for children. Hence, subjecting them to take this exam in such an uncertain and anxiety-prone situation would not be fair to them.”
He also mentioned that school buildings of Delhi government are being used for various relief purposes such as dry ration distribution centers, hunger relief centers, shelter homes, transit migrant camps & quarantine centers. This number is around 300+ and these schools will not be in a position to conduct papers from 1st July 2020.
According to Manish Sisodia’s letter, “To meet the requirement of additional beds, which is estimated at around 80,000 by the end of July, the Delhi Government is planning to use the auditoriums in nearly 242 schools to set up additional beds for COVID patients requiring hospitalization. Holding exams in the same building where there would be hundreds of corona patients would be a serious risk”.
“Currently, Delhi has 44,688 Covid-19 cases and it is expected to rise to 5.5 lakh by July 31, 2020. Therefore, it is difficult to conduct exams in Delhi,” Manish Sisodia, Delhi Deputy Minister said. So, at last, he explained the situation in Delhi and it is difficult to conduct the Board Exams in this situation.
