In the meeting, higher education minister also informed the governor about the state govt’s plan to hold the final year exams 2020 for college and university students, which have been pending due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Supreme Court of India had rejected the plea of state government in which they had requested relief from UGC Guidelines which mandates holding of final year exams 2020.
However, instead, the apex court had asked the state government to approach UGC to seek an extension in the deadline by when the exams are to be held.
