More than 55000 Vacancies in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board: According to the information received from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board the vacancies have been increased more than 55000 in are in the Electricity Board and the Trade Union members are requesting the state government to give approval to fill 5000 vacancies first.

In Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, there are departments like Technical, Accounts, Audit, Executive, Administration etc and the total number of posts are more than 1 lakh and presently more than 88000 persons were working in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board according the information gathered in March. The vacancies are also increasing to nearly 55000.
Due to excess vacancies, work including repairing electrical equipment gets delayed. The Electricity Board employees are requesting the Board to soon fill the vacancies and the Trade Union also requesting the state government to fill the vacancies by appointing the permanent employees instead of appointing contract employees.
