MUHS Semester Exam 2020 – State Medical Education Minister asks to Defer Examinations. Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh asked the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) to defer examinations of its medical courses in view of the coronavirus pandemic situation. Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) is a higher education institution in Nashik District, Maharashtra, India. MUHS offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies including Ph.D. in all branches of health sciences. Undergraduate programmes of five and a half years (such as, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)) are conducted by MUHS. Dental and nursing degrees are offered.
Postgraduate courses awarded are versatile including Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in various areas, Master of Surgery (M.S.), as well as Master of Science (M.Sc.) courses and other PG diplomas.
State Education Minister Statement:
The minister said the first and second-year students be allowed to study the next year’s curriculum and their final year examinations and all other non certifying tests be deferred till further notice. The internship of final year students be started and their examinations be conducted only after the COVID-19 spread is contained, he added.
Deshmukh said post-graduate students reside in their campuses and hence their exams can be conducted. The entrance examination of their courses is slated for September 15. The state university has announced holding examinations in August.
