The new National Education Policy (NEP) will create new opportunities for students in the domain of higher schooling, furthermore, they’ll pursue schooling with better flexibility in a seamless learning-environment, stated Professor Najma Akhtar, Jamia Millia Islamia Vice-Chancellor. Jamia Millia Islamia is a Central University located in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi. India. Originally established at Aligarh, United Provinces during the British Raj in 1920, it moved to its current location in Okhla in 1935. It was given the deemed status by University Grants Commission in 1962.
Jamia Millia Islamia VC’s Statement:
Najma Akhtar said that“The NEP will create new opportunities for students in the domain of higher education. They can pursue education with greater flexibility in a seamless learning environment. They can enter, exit and re-enter as per their convenience and career choices”.
She further added that “The NEP is groundbreaking! The higher education in India will now be holistic and multidisciplinary with a shared focus on Science, Arts and Humanities”.
The most important reforms in faculty education introduced by NEP 2020 embody Universalization of Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE), nationwide mission to concentrate on primary literacy and primary numeracy, no inflexible separation between arts and sciences streams and removing of separation between vocational and tutorial and curricular and further-curricular.
