NEET 2020 & JEE 2020 Final Decision on Exam Postponement Details:
HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal last week had conducted various review meetings with officials from NTA, CBSE, School Education, and Literacy department, MHRD to look into the examination schedule and reopening of schools. He commented that the ministry’s priority has always been the safety and security of students and teachers.

Union Minister Meeting With Officials Regarding JEE & NEET Exams:
Further on this, another meeting with Union health minister Harsh Vardhan was held on Saturday evening (June 20) on this issue. The consensus seems to be on the probable cancellation of the board exams but the problem stems from the fact that the National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts NEET and JEE (Main) has not been able to come to a concrete decision on whether to hold them or not. Considering that these tests are extremely important for lakhs of engineering and medical aspirants —not holding the examinations seems not to be the option but how to with minimum risk to candidates and teachers.
Media reports have also hinted that the as of now, HRD Ministry has not announced the complete cancellation of the pending examination because of the impact it will have on the competitive entrance exams such as JEE Main 2020 and NEET UG 2020 which are lined up to be held in late July 2020.
