NIRF Ranking 2020 Live Updates – HRD Ministry announcing Top Universities and Institutes. Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has released NIRF India Rankings 2020 today. National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched in 2015 and first rankings were announced in 2016.

National Institutional Ranking Framework, or NIRF, ranking for top universities and institutes in India has been be declared today, June 11, at 12 pm, Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced. NIRF 2020 ranking has been delayed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, NIRF rankings were announced on April 8 by President Ram Nath Kovind. NIRF rankings 2020 will be announced for nine categories — Overall, University, Management, College, Pharmacy, Medical, Engineering, Architecture, and Law.

Along with MHRD rankings, the ministry will also announce Atal Ranking of Institutions for Innovation Achievements, or ARIIA, rankings. ARIIA rankings were introduced for the first time in 2019. Indian Institute of Technology Madras, or IIT Madras, topped AIIRA rankings last year. IIT Madras also topped in the overall rankings

NIRF Rankings 2020 has released by the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and will be webcasted on the Minister’s official Twitter page.

At the launch of the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s national rankings of higher educational institutions last year, President Ram Nath Kovind said that the enrolment of girls in higher education system in the country is relatively low and an area of concern.

The number of institutes which participated in the rankings has increased by 20% this year. This year about 3800 institutes applied for the rankings. Also, the first year for ranking of Dental institutes.

NIRF rankings, ranking for only Indian institutes, comes at the heels of THE World University Ranking and QS World Ranking in which Indian universities have not been able to break into the top 100 so far.
