Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced that government schools in Punjab will not ask for any admission, re-admission and tuition fee from students for the 2020-21 academic session. The CM made the announcement during this week’s #AskCaptain session, a weekly series conducted by Captain Amarinder Singh on Twitter.In the session, the Punjab Chief Minister answers questions and suggestions sent by people in the state. The CM’s statement was given as a response to query parents all over the country regarding school fees.
Manpreet Singh from Fatehgarh Sahib shared with the CM that his daughter’s name was struck off from school due to the non-payment of admission fees. In response to the complaint, CM ordered the DC of Fatehgarh Sahib to visit the School on Monday. For another query submitted by Sukhjinder Singh, he said that the state government has provided efficient teachers and regular attendance in schools during the improvement of many government schools to smart schools. The improvement of schools facilities have led to excellent board results.
