Odisha govt to provide free transport, accommodation to JEE & NEET candidates. The Government of Odisha has announced to provide free transportation and accommodation facilities to all the needy candidates appearing for the JEE Main and NEET 2020. The Government will facilitate a smooth journey of the candidates who prefer to go by their own to the examination centres. Stay with us to get daily updates.
In total 37,000 candidates will be appearing for the JEE Mains for which there are 26 centres in seven cities of the state. Further, Chief Secretary said that candidates who do not have their own transport to reach the examination centre or accommodation should enlist for availing government transport and accommodation.
The district administrations have been asked to allow the movement of candidates and their parents without any hindrance due to the lockdowns and shutdowns.
Likewise, more than 50,000 candidates will sit for the NEET examination. The JEE examination is scheduled to be held from September 1 to 6 while NEET test will be held on September 13.
Skill Development Secretary Sanjay Singh said that the principal of one ITI (Industrial training institutes) in each district has been selected as the nodal officer to whom the students can contact for availing the facilities of transportation and accommodation for the JEE purpose.
Candidates have to inform the nodal centres regarding their transport and accommodation requirement by August 31.
