Online Classes not Compulsory for students in the state says Goa Chief Minister!!! Goa Chief Minister has stated that online education is not compulsory given the fact that internet connectivity is not available in the different areas and neither do all the children have smartphones.

According to reports, nearly 11,000 teachers have been trained for online classes in the state. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister after a meeting conducted between the CM and other stakeholders. The meeting discussed different options for schools to conduct online classes which include airing content on Doordarshan or other private channels.

Chief Minister of the State Says….

The state chief minister while speaking to the media stated that there is no circular mentioning that online education is compulsory for the students. The schools will have to teach the entire syllabus without insisting on online education. He further stated that a decision on this will be taken after the schools reopen in the state post on July 15, 2020, depending on the COVID-19 situation in the state at the time. The chief minister further stated that the teachers will have to attend schools from Wednesday onwards and start the preparation in order to avoid losing time.

Karnataka State Government:

Earlier on the Karnataka State Government had decided to stop online classes for children from Kindergarten to Class 5. The Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar have stated that decisions have been taken regarding online classes for the LKG, UKG, and primary classes to be stopped immediately and collecting fees in the name of online classes should be stopped immediately.

Schools across the country have resorted to conducting classes for the students in the online mode due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown. The classes are being conducted online in order to make sure that the students do not miss out on classes due to the COVID-19 lockdown which has been imposed since March 24, 2020.
