Punjab State Government University and College Exams will be held after June 30, 2020. According to media reports, the Punjab State Government will soon be making a decision regarding the examination dates for universities or colleges after June 30, 2020. The decision regarding conducting the examinations in the universities and colleges in the state will be taken keeping in mind the fresh guidelines expected to be released by the central government.
Earlier on the University Grants Commission had released a set of guidelines with regard to conducting the examinations, and reopening the classes for the colleges and universities in the state. The announcement was made by the Punjab State Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in a Facebook Live session conducted. The Chief Minister also stated that the decision regarding the examination will be taken by the Centre since all the universities and colleges in Punjab are directly or indirectly affiliated to the University Grants Commission under the Human Resource Development Minister.
According to the press release issued by the state, the state Chief Minister said that the decision with regard to promoting the students without conducting the examinations this year was not in hands of the state government.
Since all the universities and colleges in Punjab are either directly or indirectly affiliated to the University Grants Commission, fresh guidelines will be released by the UGC with regard to conducting the college and university examinations from July 1, 2020, onwards. The central government is soon to announce the decision with regard to opening the colleges on the dates as prescribed.
The Central University of Punjab has asked the students to choose the semester exam dates of their choice this semester. According to the guidelines set by the university, the examination will be conducted from July 6, 2020, onwards.
