The Ministry of Railways is a ministry in the Government of India, responsible for the country’s rail transport. The ministry operates the state-owned Indian Railways, an organization that operates as a monopoly in rail transport and is headed by the Chairman of Railway Board. The Ministry of Railways along with the Railway Board is housed inside Rail Bhavan in New Delhi.
Railway Ministry’s Recruitment Process (1.40 lakh vacancies):
According to the Government’s Press Release Ministry of Railways conducted first-ever online Workman Sanghosti in which representatives of Railways Worker’s Unions participated from across the country. This “Workmen Sangosthi” was attended by Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Shri Suresh C Angadi, Minister of State of Railways, Shri V.K.Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board along with senior officers of Railway Board.
Previously, Dr. Aanand S. Khati, DG/HR, Railway Board informed that Indian Railways has more than 12.18 lacs employees on a roll. 1.21 lakh employees have been recruited recently. The process for recruitment of 1.40 lakh vacancies has been initiated.
In an earlier tweet, the Ministry of Railways further clarified that “Indian Railways is not going to surrender any safety category posts required for train operations & maintenance. The review is being done only for non-safety category vacant posts so that additional safety posts can be created for new Railway Infrastructure Projects being developed at fast speed”.
RRB NTPC Recruitment:
Recently, Indian Railways had made a big announcement regarding the RRB NTPC exam. Railways in an official notice had informed that it is going to expedite the recruitment process as the situation eases out. The authority is formulating a viable strategy to conduct the RRB NTPC exam for 1.25 crore applicants. It is scheduling all the processes while observing all the norms in the coronavirus situation.

RRB Group D Recruitment:
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) on behalf of Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) are conducting RRB Group D recruitment for various posts like Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant Pointsman. Candidates will be recruited in RRC Level 1 of the seventh CPC Pay Matrix in various departments of Indian Railways. More than 1.15 crore candidates had registered for the RRC Group D exam. A total of 1,03,769 vacancies will be filled through RRB Group D.
