Tamil Nadu Final Year Semester Exam must be Conducted on September – Said by High Court. The High Court said that Tamil Nadu final year semester exams must be held on the month of September. HC Order on TN Final Year Semester Exams:
Though semester exams have been cancelled for all but semester exams for final year students in arts and science, engineering and MCA courses in Tamil Nadu this year will be held in the month of September as per High Court Order.
On Monday, The Higher Education Department, said that 30 per cent of the marks will be taken from the student’s performance in the previous semester exam and 70 per cent from the internal assessment of the semester. It added that full marks will be awarded for supporting and elective papers. If a student did not attend the previous semester exam, the evaluation shall be completed after the student takes up the exam.
UGC Guidelines on Final Year Semester Exams:
Earlier, UGC has released its revised guidelines on Final Year Exams. The UGC Notice stated that, “The universities are required to complete the examinations by the end of September, 2020 in offline (pen & paper)/ online/ blended (online + offline) mode following the prescribed protocols/ guidelines related to COVID-19 pandemic.”
It further added that, “In case a student of terminal semester/ final year is unable to appear in the examination conducted by the University for whatsoever the reason(s) may be, he/she may be given opportunity to appear in special examinations for such course(s)/ paper(s), which may be conducted by the university as and when feasible, so that the student is not put to any inconvenience/ disadvantage.”
