TNUSRB Sub Inspector Selection Process

The selection process of TNUSRB consists of following stages as listed below in order. Provisional Select List is drawn based on the total marks obtained in below mentioned stages

  1. Written Examination,
  2. Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test, Physical Efficiency Test,
  3. Viva-Voce and Special marks.

Written Examination

  • Written Examination comprises of one paper containing objective type questions.
  • The subjects covered in Written Examination are as follows :
  1. A) Open Quota
  • The duration of the Written Examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • Minimum pass marks is 35% of 70 marks i.e. 25 marks.
  • 140 questions each carrying half mark.

  1. B) Departmental Quota
  • The duration of the Written Examination is 3 hrs.
  • Minimum pass marks is 35% of 85 marks i.e. 30 marks.
  • 170 questions each carrying half mark.

Those who clear the written test successfully shall be eligible to further stages in recruitment process. Candidates who declared successful at Physical Measurement Test will be called for endurance test.

  • Endurance Test Running 1500 Mtrs. in 7 Minutes for male Candidates
  • Running 400 Mtrs. in 2 Minutes for Female Candidates.

Those who failed are eliminated and the successful candidates are sent for Physical Efficiency Test.

Interview

Those who clear both the above mentioned stages are called for final interview or viva voice which consists of 10 marks for both open and departmental candidates. This is to test the communication skills and problem solving ability of the candidates. There is a provision of special marks. 5 marks are awarded for the NCC/ NSS and Sports certificates. Also, 5 marks are awarded for the medals won in National Police Duty Meet.
