UGC Extends Tenure for Fellowships Expiring During Coronavirus Pandemic. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to extend the tenure of UGC sponsored fellowships which are expiring / expired during the coronavirus pandemic period.
The University Grants Commission, under the Scheme of Dr. D.S. Kothari Post- Doctoral Fellowship provides fellowship for a period of three years to the selected candidates having a doctorate degree, preferably with published research work to their credit.
As per the provisions of the Guidelines, the candidate should join fellowship within 3 months from the date of issue of Award Letter, failing which the award will be treated as cancelled.
It has come to the notice of the UGC that in view of COVID-19 Pandemic, the candidates selected under the scheme are finding it difficult to join the fellowship within the stipulated period of three months.
Hence to avoid hardship being faced by the selected candidates, the University Grants Commission has extended the period of joining from three months to six months from the date of issue of the ‘Award Letter’, for those candidates who have been selected vide 85′ h, 86th and 87’h lists under Dr. D.S. Kothari Post- Doctoral Fellowship Scheme.

- Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral Fellowship
- Post Doctoral Fellowship for SC/ST
- Post Doctoral Fellowship for Women
- BSR Fellowship (ongoing cases)
