24 Fake University Announced By UGC – Get Details Here. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a list of 24 unrecognized higher education institutions across the country. The UGC has said that they are fake and has released shocking information that there are a large number of fake universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Fake Universities:
A notice has been issued to students and the public that there are currently 24 self-accredited higher education institutions operating outside the UGC Act. They are warned that they are fake universities. UGC secretary Rajnish Jain said they were not authorized to award any title. He also advised students to be careful as degrees obtained at those universities are not valid.
The UGC has listed a maximum of eight fake universities in Uttar Pradesh, seven in Delhi, two each in Odisha and West Bengal. Their full list has been published.
