UGC Guidelines On Exams is Not Convenient – Tamil Nadu CM to HRD Minister. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami wrote a letter to Human Resource Development minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank regarding the constraints and difficulties over implementing the recent University Grants Commission guidelines, which mandated that all the educational institutions across the country shall conduct examinations by September 2020 for the final semester students, will not be feasible. TN CM Letter to Union Minister:
In a letter to Union Human Resource Development minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the chief minister mentioned many authorities and personal arts and science and engineering faculties, polytechnics and different establishments of upper studying within the state have been transformed as Covid care centres and the association could proceed for some extra time.
The Tamil Nadu CM’s letter stated that“I would like to bring to your notice that the new guidelines have many constraints and difficulties which include the students reaching the examination centres, as many of them are residing outside the district, outside the state and even outside the country, Many reside exterior the district, state and a few even exterior the nation. It is usually not possible to conduct on-line examinations, contemplating the assorted points referring to digital entry to the scholars.”
Other than TN, States which opposed the UGC Guidelines:
Many states have taken a call to not conduct the ultimate semester examinations. West Bengal, Rajasthan and Punjab states, have opposed the advisory of the University Grants Commission asking the states to conduct final year college and university examinations by September and also Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced that the Delhi Government will be cancelling final-year exams in all state-run universities.
