According to University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines about the new academic year, the state government advises the state universities to start providing “e-content” and “e -lectures” from Monday and completes by July 31.
Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said that “UGC had issued guidelines for the universities in which they had focused on mid-term examination and semester system, which was not prevalent in most of our universities. Thus universities have been issued these guidelines so they start preparing the e-content from today onwards, so that they can start online classes from August 4. They have also been told to prepare the schedule for the mid-term examinations and semester system.”
The e-content matter can be accessed by a “open access link” on the institutions’ websites so that students of other universities can also benefit from it.
The universities are asked to make sure that teachers has proper contact with parents of students between July 13 and August 3. The deadline for admission process of students in Degree programmes is 15th of September , for Post graduate programme students is 31st of October . The entire process will be done through online mode.
Online classes for students is anticipated to begin by August 4, For the first year students of degree Programme is scheduled to begin online from October 1.
The classes for students in the fresh batch of Master’s programmes will have to begin by November 1.
According to the government, the “mid-term” examinations can be conducted online or offline. The marking system is advised to provide weightage based on mid-term and sessional examinations, tutorials, assignments, and projects.
