UPSC CSE Exam 2020 Prelims Postponed or Not. SC on UPSC CSE plea another attempt might be sought without increasing age limit. Due to COVID-19 pandemic all the exams are delayed and postponed. The candidates are requesting the board to postpone the UPSC CSE prelims examination but the board already done the arrangements to conduct the exam in the safest manner. So, they are not postponing the exams due to CSE 2021. Already the exams are delayed so, the board not able to postpone the exams. The exam schedule to be held on 04.10.2020. No way must the applied candidates attend the exam on 04.10.2020.
According to the plea, these seven hours long offline exam will be taken by approximately six lakh aspirants at test centres in 72 cities across the country 2500 sub-centres for the exam. UPSC to ensure separate sitting arrangements for candidates who are suffering from cough and cold during the test
Supreme Court Said:
“An extra attempt is sought for the ones who are taking the last attempt as they might not able to appear due to the pandemic”
On merging the preliminary exam for 2020 and 2021 attempts, the Supreme Court said, “We are not impressed by this. Resorting to this will lead to cascading effect on other exams as stated in Affidavit. UPSC should make available all facilities and follow all protocol,” as reported by Bar and Bench.
The bench said,
“An extra attempt is sought for the ones who are taking the last attempt as they might not able to appear due to the pandemic.” The apex court further said, “Explore the possibility for giving them one more attempt to such exams without extending age limit”.
