Uttarakhand board to evaluate students from containment zones who missed exams on average marks. Uttarakhand board authorities informed that the students who couldn’t seem in board examinations within the state as a result of being caught in containment zones will now be marked primarily based on common marks and also students will have the option of appearing for an examination for the subject they missed, within one month of the result being declared. The Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education (UBSE) has acknowledged that the students who could not appear for UK Board Examinations 2020 for UK 10th exam and UK 12th exam, staying in the containment zone or home quarantine, will be marked on the average marks basis. The Board had earlier announced that it will not be conducting the remaining Class 10 and 12 exams in the areas that fall under coronavirus containment zones.

BSE has declared the Time Table for Uttarakhand State SSC Exam 2020. 10th class board exams for UK state board was started from 3 March and for 12th class, board is 5 March 2020. As per the revised UK 10th Date Sheet 2020 and UK 12th Date Sheet 2020, the remaining examinations were later conducted from June 20 to 23.Last year, 10th exam for Uttarakhand state board was started from 1 March 2019.

Students to be evaluated on their average marks:

Neeta Tiwari, secretary for Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education said , “The students will be marked on the bases of average marks scored by them for the subjects that they have missed. Students will also be given the option to appear in the exam for the subject that they have missed if they are not satisfied with the average marks.”

Tiwari further added that “Those appearing for only one subject are mostly working professionals who want to improve their academic profile. This will not affect most of the students who have their careers ahead and a delay in results can impact that, therefore we will be following the average based marking system”.
