Applying For Higher Pension Under EPFO Portal Is Easy – Says Minister: In November 2022, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) made an option for employers and employees jointly to apply for a higher pension through the website portal under the instruction from Supreme Court. Many employees have raised an issue that the application process for the higher pension was difficult and it requires impractical requirements.

Regarding this, the Minister of State Labour and Employment Mr. Rameswar Teli on Monday (24.07.2023) announced that the application process for the higher pension scheme through EPFO’s unified portal is quite easy, understandable, simple, and in adherence to the SC’s order. Minister announced this through a written reply to a query raised at parliament.
Minister also announced that the application process will only involve simple requirements as per the provisions of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme 1952, Employees’ (EPS) Pension Scheme 1995, and as per the SC judgment. EPFO also instructed the branch offices across the country to assist the employees in filling out the online forms says the minister. Employees who are facing any difficulties in applying are instructed to contact the regional office without any hesitation.
